Go Green with IT (Windows XP)

Hibernate option is not available by default in Windows XP. To enable follow this steps - 1. Go to Start >  Settings  > Control Panel . Make sure to open the Classic View. 2. O pen Power Options. 3. Check if there is a tab labeled Hibernate. Open the Hibernate tab & check the Enable Hibernation checkbox. click Apply and Ok . Pic-1 given below. 4. Now, you will see in the Turn Off Computer dialog box, press the Shift Key, the Stand By option will change to Hibernate while you hold the Shift. Pic-2 given below.  Note: If not able to see the Hibernate tab, then Hibernation is probably not supported in your computer.

Now a days we don't have time and we dont like to wait for system to turn on. We just lock the sytem and leave for the day from office which in result waste of energy. After sometime computer will go in sleep mode which also utilize power i.e. again waste of energy. Better way is hibernet the computer which save time in resuming all your previous session windows and important save power. Go Green Follow simple step to Enable Hibernet in Windows 7 - Command Approach: 1. Open Command prompt with Administator rights. 2. Type powercfg /hibernate on and press enter. GUI Approach: 1. Go to start, type power opton and hit enter. 2. In the left side, open the link labeled Change when the computer sleeps and then open the link Change advanced power settings . 3. In Advanced Sleep options -> expand the Sleep tree and turn off Hybrid Sleep. 4. Go to start menu and see hibernate option.
